Beaver Falls High School football completes comeback against Freedom Area

In a thrilling comeback, Beaver Falls High School defeated unbeaten Freedom Area 24-13 in a game that saw the Eagles come from behind to secure a narrow victory. Junior Xavier Clark and freshman quarterback Rodney Slappy were instrumental in the turnaround, with Clark contributing two touchdowns on the ground and Slappy leading a late third-quarter drive.

Beaver Falls head coach Jim Mooney praised the team's determination, stating that they had the ambition to keep playing and came back stronger after acknowledging their mistakes. The turning point came when defensive lineman Amarion Easton intercepted a pass by Freedom Area's Kaden Bailey, shifting the momentum in the second quarter.

Despite a slow start in the first quarter, Beaver Falls' offense found its rhythm, thanks in part to the strategic adjustments made by Mooney. Freedom Area, however, struggled after Bailey suffered a lower-arm injury and was unable to continue. The Wildcats' offense, led by Mason O'Donnell, managed just 84 yards on the ground and 92 passing yards, with Karter Brown contributing significantly to the passing game.

Freedom Area will aim to bounce back when they host Neshannock, while Beaver Falls will travel to Mohawk for their next game on October 2.
