Singapore firms to expand presence and invest additional ₹2,000 crore in Karnataka: M.B. Patil

Singapore-based real asset manager CapitaLand Investment is planning to expand its data center capacity in Karnataka, India, alongside their ongoing ₹2,000 crore project in the International Tech Park Bangalore. Minister for Large and Medium Industries M.B. Patil, who is in Singapore to attract investments to the state, revealed this during a visit there on Friday.

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), a prominent player in data centers across India with 34 centers and 613 MW of IT capacity, has shown interest in further bolstering its presence in Karnataka. STT GDC is investing around ₹5,000 crore to develop a 100 MW data center campus on KIADB land in Devanahalli near Bengaluru.

Patil highlighted the significant potential for collaboration between Karnataka and Singapore in high-value sectors such as aerospace, defense, semiconductors, aviation MRO, and other advanced industries. These possibilities were shared with Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for Trade and Industry in Singapore. He mentioned that further progress in these areas would be pursued through the Invest Karnataka Forum and the Singapore Enterprise Centre in Bengaluru.

Moreover, the Singapore government has been invited to participate as a partner country at the Global Investor Meet 2027, scheduled for the following year.
