Liberty scores 24 unanswered points in the 2nd half to beat Coastal Carolina 34-17

In a thrilling matchup between Liberty and Coastal Carolina, Liberty ultimately emerged victorious with a 34-17 score on Thursday night. Deshawn Purdie accounted for 216 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Kam Davis rushed for a game-high 166 yards and another touchdown. Liberty capitalized on its opening three drives of the second half, securing a 27-17 advantage after Ethan Vasko's 8-yard touchdown run, facilitated by Purdie's 15-yard scramble.

The Liberty defense has maintained an impressive streak, not allowing a fourth-quarter touchdown in four games this season.

Purdie completed 11 of his 16 passes, with his lone touchdown going to Makai Jackson. Jackson's 58-yard touchdown reception, which involved breaking through a challenging tackle, extended Liberty's lead to 10-3. The freshman finished the game with 149 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Coastal Carolina's freshman quarterback, Deuce Bailey, threw for 213 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, marking his first interception of the season on his second throw.

Bailey's precision was evident early on, as Coastal Carolina scored three points on its first three drives before taking a 17-10 lead on Tristian Gardner's diving catch with 24 seconds remaining in the half.
