Congress to resume discussions on nominations

Congress top officials are set to resume talks on potential nominations for board and corporation heads next week, according to sources. Randeep Singh Surjewala, the Congress general secretary for Karnataka, recently met Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and several legislators to discuss the matter. Discussions will continue in Delhi during the Chief Minister's visit for a Congress Working Committee meeting.

About 10 to 12 chairpersons of boards and corporations are likely to retain their positions, while new individuals will be considered. Additionally, discussions on filling two remaining Cabinet vacancies will occur in Delhi. The five vacant seats in the Karnataka Legislative Council have garnered significant attention, with former Council members and new candidates participating in the race.

Proposals have been made to include a representative from the Scheduled Tribes and a Lambani community representative in this round.
