Mumbai: Advocate Seeks FIR Against Chembur Society Committee Over Alleged SIR Form Entry Restriction

Mumbai-based advocate Prashant Vaikunth Nayak has filed a complaint with the Nehru Nagar Police Station accusing the managing committee of Chembur's Godrej Central A to Z Towers Cooperative Housing Society of blocking him from entering the premises to submit his uncle's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration form. According to the complaint, the incident occurred on July 25, 2026, around 4.15 pm when Nayak visited the society with his uncle's SIR form intending to hand it over to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) Kishan Kumar.

However, a woman security officer allegedly barred Nayak's entry, claiming that security personnel had been instructed by the managing committee not to allow outsiders to submit SIR forms. Nayak claims that he subsequently contacted the police, following which personnel from Nehru Nagar Police Station arrived at the scene. Society manager Kiran Pednekar also joined the meeting, reportedly stating that he was complying with the managing committee's directives and that Nayak would not be granted entry.

Despite demanding evidence of a written circular, resolution, or statutory authority justifying the restriction, Nayak alleges that none was provided. FPJ attempted to contact Mr. Pednekar for his side of the story but received no response to phone calls or WhatsApp messages.
