NAGOYA, Japan - South Korea clinched silver in the mixed team skeet shooting event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Thursday, marking their first shotgun medal in the ongoing competition. Lee Jong-jun and Jang Kook-hee achieved 51 points, one shy of the record set by China's Lyu Jianlin and Jiang Yiting at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery in Toyota.

India secured bronze with 44 points. This marked the fifth day of shooting at the Asian Games, with South Korea previously winning five medals in Toyota - two in pistol events and three in rifle events. In skeet shooting, athletes shoot at unglazed clay discs launched from two distinct structures - a high house on the left and a low house on the right.

Each shooter fires four targets, resulting in a total of eight shots per series, with each successful shot earning one point. The four-team final saw Qatar eliminated after the third series with 18 points, followed by China leading at 23 points, South Korea at 22, and India at 21. The teams tied at 30 points after the next series, but China led 45-44 after the penultimate series, as South Korea missed two shots.

India was eliminated to claim the bronze medal. In the final series, Jang missed her second shot, leaving South Korea with 51 points. China's Lyu failed to hit his second target, but Jiang struck all four of her shots to avoid a tiebreaker shoot-off, securing her third gold medal at the competition.
