JAMB confirms CAPS outage, cites hosting technical glitches

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) is currently down, following reports from candidates of difficulties accessing the platform for approximately 24 hours. JAMB identified the issue as technical problems related to the hosting setup for the system.

In a statement on Thursday, JAMB expressed its intent to collaborate with the hosting organization to rectify the situation and restore CAPS to full functionality. The announcement came after numerous candidates took to social media, particularly X, to report issues accessing CAPS since Wednesday. These reports included the platform failing to load and candidates being redirected or receiving messages indicating the site's unavailability.

Some candidates also contacted JAMB's official X account, @jamb_hq, seeking information and assistance regarding their admission status or acceptance of offers. CAPS is an essential tool for JAMB, used to manage the admissions process, allowing candidates to view admission offers and complete necessary steps, including accepting or rejecting offers.

This disruption occurs during the ongoing 2026 admission exercise, as candidates are actively using the platform to monitor their admission status and complete required processes. JAMB has not provided a specific time frame for the restoration of the platform and indicated that further updates would be provided as the situation evolves.
