Ismail khuatir teguran Anwar berdasar gambaran tak lengkap

Yesterday, Negeri Sembilan's Minister of Finance Ismail Lasim and former Negeri Sembilan executive councillor (exco) made allegations against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim regarding his comments on the issue of the royal institution. Speaking at a media briefing, Ismail expressed concerns about Anwar's accusations, stating that they were based on incomplete information about their roles in the state's royal institution matters.

He emphasized that he respected Anwar's concern for the royal institution but questioned the accuracy of his accusations and the true actions of the minister and exco members in this matter.

Earlier, Anwar had accused Ismail and other former Negeri Sembilan exco members of having no mandate to interfere with the king's position and called their actions "misguided." Ismail, in response, affirmed that he and his exco colleagues would not interfere with investigations, customary considerations, or the selection processes that lie within the jurisdiction of the Negeri Sembilan State Government Act 1959.

He emphasized that the state government respects the ongoing legal proceedings and will not take any actions that contradict the court's decisions. Ismail stressed that all questions regarding the legitimacy of the proclamation, adherence to procedure, and the impact of the constitution must be determined based on the relevant body's statute and the associated legal proceedings. He affirmed the state's respect for any court orders.
