Global Business Forum kicks off in Banff, Alta., under theme ‘thriving in chaos’

BANFF - The 27th annual Global Business Forum has commenced in the picturesque town of Banff, nestled amidst the majestic Rocky Mountains west of Calgary. The theme of this year's event, "thriving in chaos," starkly contrasts with the tranquil alpine setting that surrounds the Banff Springs Hotel.

Lois Mitchell, the former Alberta lieutenant-governor and co-chair of the forum, expressed that never before have participants witnessed such turmoil and disruption in the international order. The conference, held for the 27th time, will span a range of critical topics, including global security, strained Canada-U.S. relations, space travel, artificial intelligence, and more.

A diverse lineup of speakers has been assembled for the event. Artemis II astronaut Jeremy Hansen, a Canadian space hero, will share his insights. Former Canadian ambassador to the United States Kirsten Hillman and Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy will also lend their expertise to the discussions. Notably, executives from major Canadian corporations are set to participate, representing Shell Canada, Canadian National Railway Co., and Telus Corp. They will share their perspectives on navigating the complexities of the present global landscape.
