BJP fills state unit gaps, RSS link in focus

The BJP has bolstered its state units by filling crucial positions with general secretaries (organisation), a role typically held by RSS full-timers. However, there has been a scarcity of new RSS deputations, with most appointments going to existing BJP organisational network members. Nabin released a list detailing the responsibilities of 24 RSS full-timers working within the BJP framework, primarily as organisational secretaries.

Approximately ten states had been without a full-time general secretary (organisation) for a significant duration. The post of general secretary (organisation) plays a pivotal role in facilitating coordination between the Sangh, BJP organisation, and the respective state government. Nonetheless, prominent states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala remain without a general secretary (organisation).

BL Santhosh, hailing from Karnataka, serves as the national BJP general secretary (organisation), while Ram Madhav has been designated as the poll in-charge for Tamil Nadu. Interestingly, the list doesn't highlight a substantial influx of new RSS personnel into the BJP, with only one or two additions. The majority of those appointed are already part of the BJP's ecosystem, receiving additional responsibilities in neighboring states.

Notably, Saudan Singh's role has undergone a substantial transformation, transitioning from northern-state duties to a broader eastern cluster encompassing Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal, with his base in Bhubaneswar. This shift is particularly noteworthy, as it signifies the BJP's expansion of responsibilities for senior organisational figures instead of soliciting fresh RSS deputations.
