Vancouver police make largest-ever cocaine seizure totalling 328 kilograms

Vancouver police have made the largest single cocaine seizure in the force's history, according to officials. The haul weighed in at over 328 kilograms. The discovery came after a local company alerted authorities on July 21, claiming its staff had found 14 duffle bags of drugs hidden among boxes of T-shirts it had ordered.

Sergeant Travis Fraser, leading the department's drug unit, stated that the company was "shocked by what it found" in the shipping container and immediately contacted the police. The investigation has traced the shipment's origins to Honduras, where it was loaded onto a vessel in May. The vessel made a stop in Jamaica the following month before reaching Montreal on July 5.

Initial analysis suggests the cocaine was intended to be removed prior to arrival in Canada but for an unknown reason, it remained onboard. Authorities are now collaborating with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, as well as Honduran and Jamaican authorities, to further investigate the operation.
