Ukraine’s new drone ferries FPV drones deep behind Russian lines and releases them there. It costs about $9,900 and does three other jobs too

A Ukrainian company, Ukrskytechnology, has unveiled a versatile small aircraft named KARA capable of bombarding targets, relaying radio signals, transporting FPV drones behind enemy lines, and striking autonomously. The KARA is available on Ukraine's state Brave1 Market in three price tiers, ranging from a bare airframe to a pre-assembled drone ready for immediate use.

One aircraft can perform the functions of several, costing approximately $9,900. The Brave1 Market platform has processed over $235 million in orders and lists more than a thousand products, enabling frontline units to acquire necessary equipment even before official approval processes are completed. The KARA's functionality depends on the specific configuration chosen by the buyer.

It can be equipped to drop cargo, function as a radio signal repeater to extend a unit's communication range, carry FPV drones deep into enemy territory for release, or execute strikes independently. Buyers can opt for a customizable glider, a Plug-N-Play model with basic electronics, or a pre-assembled Ready-To-Fly version. The drone boasts modest but adaptable specifications, including a tactical range of 70 kilometers, a 2.5-hour endurance, a cruising speed of 90 kilometers per hour, a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour, and an operational altitude of 200 meters, but capable of reaching up to 3,000 meters.

The KARA can be powered by either an electric motor or a combustion engine and carries two payload blocks, each capable of holding up to three kilograms of equipment. The KARA is designed to be launched by catapult and land like a plane, requiring just ten minutes for setup. Although the KARA is currently listed on the Brave1 Market for the price of a used car, it is undergoing formal approval processes, known as codification, which is necessary for standard state procurement.
