Inside Dolly Parton’s estate battle with nephew weeks after her death

Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80 on August 25, leaving behind a substantial fortune estimated at $450 million, according to Forbes. Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, who was her nephew by his father Larry Seaver, publicly announced her death upon the singer's demise. Seaver, who had worked as Parton's head of security for over two decades, was terminated from his position at her properties in September.

This led to a restraining order being filed by Parton's estate, led by her longtime manager Danny Nozell, against Seaver in a Nashville court. The estate accused Seaver of threatening, intimidating and coercing them, including making demands for money and invoking military-contractor experience. They also alleged that Seaver threatened to damage Parton's business relationships and brand, telling a lawyer, "I'm not an entertainment person.

Seaver and his security company, however, claimed that his removal was unexpected and unexplained, and accused Nozell and others managing the estate of acting in bad faith to profit from Parton's legacy. The legal dispute is focused on Seaver's removal from his security role and allegations of threats, intimidation and interference with the estate's business interests, rather than an inheritance battle over Parton's fortune.
