Orang Asli man dies in suspected tiger attack in Sungai Siput

In a tragic incident near Sungai Siput, an Orang Asli man named Zamberi Angah, 42, lost his life in a suspected tiger attack while foraging for rattan with a companion in the Korbu forest reserve. The victim's body was discovered in a bamboo thicket, located approximately 200 meters away from the site where the attack is believed to have taken place.

Zolkafly Harun, the assemblyman for the area, reported that the wildlife and national parks department (Perhilitan) received an alarm about the incident around 4:30 pm. Responding promptly to the call, Perhilitan's wildlife conservation unit, along with personnel from Sungai Siput, swiftly arrived at the scene. Upon arrival, they found the victim, who had been killed around 6:58 pm. At the site, tiger paw prints and other evidence of the attack were noted.

In a Facebook post, Zolkafly stated that authorities have advised members of the local community to temporarily cease entering the forest area to prevent further incidents. He also urged the community not to disseminate photographs of the victim's body out of respect for his family. The loss has deeply saddened the authorities, Zolkafly, and the local community. After learning of the tragedy, Zolkafly visited the victim's wife and children, providing them with the necessary support during their time of grief.
