Orang Asli man dies in suspected tiger attack in Sungai Siput

An Orang Asli man named Zamberi Angah, 42, tragically lost his life in a suspected tiger attack while foraging for rattan with a companion in the Korbu forest reserve, located near Kampung Takung in Sungai Siput. Local politician Zolkafly Harun reported that the victim's body was discovered in a bamboo thicket, situated around 200 meters from the site where the incident is believed to have transpired.

Perhilitan authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 4:30 pm, prompting swift action by Perhilitan wildlife conservation unit personnel and Sungai Siput Perhilitan staff. Upon arrival, they found Zamberi with distinct tiger paw prints and additional evidence supporting the theory of a tiger attack. The authorities informed the local community to temporarily refrain from venturing into the forest area and discouraged the dissemination of photographs of the deceased's body as a sign of respect for his family.

This heartrending incident deeply impacted not only Zamberi's family but also the local community, with Zolkafly visiting the victim's wife and children to extend his condolences and support during this difficult time.
