A man was rescued seven days after allegedly forcing his younger sister's child into a river and drowning her, in an incident that occurred in Kota Tinggi yesterday. (Picture: Bernama) PETALING JAYA: Authorities issued a warrant of arrest until September 28 after a High Court judge, Hafizah Abdul Rajak, ordered it to assist with the investigation under Section 302 of the Criminal Force Act, concerning manslaughter, reported Bernama.

The suspect, who had been hospitalized at Kota Tinggi Hospital prior to this, arrived at the court building at 9 a.m. accompanied by police officers. According to Kota Tinggi Police Chief Yusof Othman, his office had detained the suspect following a report received at 9:30 a.m. The police believed the suspect had pushed the victim into the river before wielding a knife and chasing after the victim's father, who was 40 years old.

Another police officer also sustained injuries while attempting to apprehend the suspect. The suspect is suspected to have a mental health issue and the cause of the incident is still under investigation. The victim's body was sent to Pasir Gudang Hospital for autopsy.
