'We'll change geography of war': Iran warns US of new weapons, targets

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that any future attack on Iran would prompt a strong military response. The warning came as tensions between the two countries persist nearly seven months into their ongoing conflict, with neither side showing signs of returning to full-scale war.

Speaking on Monday, an IRGC spokesperson revealed that Iran would adapt its defensive and counteroffensive strategies if the US initiated another assault. The spokesperson added that Iran would bring new weapons with advanced capabilities into the battlefield, surprising the world. Furthermore, the IRGC spokesperson noted that Iran would broaden its target selection, mentioning that they possess new targets yet untouched by previous attacks.

The Guards also expressed readiness for an extended conflict, as tensions between the two nations continue to escalate. Iran’s military central command had previously accused the US of preparing for another operation against Tehran, though specific details were not provided. In recent days, direct fighting between Iran and the US has waned after a spike in hostilities last month.

However, tensions remain, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran has continued intermittent attacks on commercial vessels. Both Iran and the US are also engaged in a blockade of the strategic waterway, each seeking to apply pressure on the other. The conflict has spilled over into Yemen, where the Iran-backed Houthi movement has seized additional territory from the Saudi-backed government. The Houthis have also targeted Saudi Arabian interests, including in Riyadh.
