Explosions in Syria's Aleppo result in injuries, civil defence says

At around 3 a.m. on Monday, a powerful blast was heard near Aleppo in northern Syria, followed by a series of explosions, according to state media reports. Syrian state television confirmed that a blast was detected in the Al-Eis area in the southern Aleppo countryside, and investigators were currently examining the cause of the explosions.

The motive behind the blasts remained unclear at the time of reporting. Faisal Mohammad Ali, the chief of Aleppo civil defence operations, informed the state-run Al-Ikhbariya channel that the persistent explosions were impeding access to emergency services and cautioned civilians to stay away from the affected area. In recent times, Syria, which is recovering from a civil war that lasted over a decade, has experienced several such incidents.

On Friday, an unidentified explosion at a military site in Deir Ezzor's eastern province claimed the lives of 11 individuals. Earlier this month, an explosion at a weapons depot operated by Syria's Ministry of Defence in the northwest Idlib province resulted in 14 fatalities and 11 injuries. Just a week prior, five people lost their lives when a vehicle carrying munitions exploded in the same region.
