Police tracking Proton Wira driver after Axia ends up in ditch on NSE

KUALA LUMPUR - Police are actively searching for the driver of a Proton Wira following an incident where a Perodua Axia lost control and ended up in a ditch on the North-South Expressway. Datuk Seri Mohammed Hasbullah Ali, director of the Bukit Aman Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department, stated that they are seeking the driver's information to aid in their investigation.

The incident was captured on two dashcam recordings that have gone viral on social media, showing the Proton Wira moving into the lane occupied by the Perodua Axia, causing the Axia driver to react urgently. The Axia subsequently lost control, veered off the expressway, and ended up in a ditch. The incident occurred between Km270 and Km275 of the NSE, with both vehicles traveling northbound.

Initially, no police report was lodged, but the investigating officer contacted the Axia driver, who would subsequently file a report at the Seremban district police headquarters. Hasbullah also reminded motorists to drive cautiously and avoid actions that could endanger themselves or other road users, emphasizing the importance of using dashcams for capturing such incidents, as they can provide valuable evidence for police investigations.
