Trump says proposed arch will also be a "top grade Military Complex"

President Trump announced on Sunday that he has approved the transformation of a planned triumphal arch into a top-tier military complex. The conversion, requested by the United States Military for national security reasons, is set to commence this month. The proposed 250-foot-tall arch, to be constructed at the Receptive Circle near Arlington National Cemetery, will be clad in granite and adorned with three golden statues, including an observation deck.

The military complex will house and store a large number of drones, snipers, and sniper ammunition, both on the roof and plaza areas. Trump emphasized that there is no facility like this in the world. Washington, D.C., is uniquely the only city among 59 top cities and capitals globally without a triumphal arch, but it will now boast the "greatest" such structure.

The administration claims the development aims to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence signing this year. However, the project has faced criticism due to concerns that its height might obstruct views between major D.C. monuments and Arlington National Cemetery, as well as its proximity to Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport.

Despite these concerns, the Federal Aviation Administration affirmed on Friday that the arch does not pose any danger to flights at the nearby airport, despite opposition from Democratic lawmakers who worry the project would complicate the already intricate airspace.
