Torres on target again as PSG beat 10-man Marseille in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain's Ferran Torres once again showcased his goal-scoring prowess as the French champions secured a 2-1 victory over Marseille in the recently concluded Ligue 1 match. Torres, who joined PSG from Barcelona last summer, came on as a substitute just before the hour mark and headily the ball into the net in the 66th minute, giving his team the lead.

Marseille's Angel Gomes equalized for the visitors on the 72nd minute, but PSG captain Marquinhos sealed the win for the hosts three minutes later with a decisive rebound in the 75th minute. The Brazilian defender received the ball from Nuno Mendes' cross and converted it, assisted by a save from Marseille's goalkeeper Jeffrey de Lange.

Earlier this season, Torres scored his first goal for PSG in a match against Brest, earning him seven goals in six appearances across all competitions. The victory extended PSG's winning streak and lifted them to sixth position in the league table, five points behind leaders Monaco. Meanwhile, struggling Marseille suffered their fourth straight loss in Ligue 1 and five consecutive defeats across all competitions, dropping them into the relegation zone.

Monaco, on the other hand, extended their unbeaten run in the league by defeating Lens 2-1 on Friday, putting them two points clear at the top of the table ahead of Lyon and Paris FC.
