Torres on target again as PSG beat 10-man Marseille in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain's Ferran Torres continued his impressive start to his career with a brace as the champions defeated bitter rivals Marseille 2-1 in Ligue 1. Torres came off the bench to score the opening goal in the 66th minute after replacing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, heading in a cross from Desire Doue. England midfielder Angel Gomes equalized for Marseille just before halftime, but PSG's captain Marquinhos won the game with a goal in the 79th minute.

Timothy Weah, a former PSG player, was sent off for a second booking, leaving Marseille a man down. Torres, who scored Spain's winning goal in the World Cup final against Argentina, now has seven goals in six appearances since joining PSG from Barcelona. PSG's win puts them sixth in the table, five points behind leaders Monaco after five fixtures.

Marseille, struggling with four straight Ligue 1 defeats, now find themselves in the relegation zone. Monaco extended their unbeaten start with a 2-1 victory over Lens, putting them two points clear at the top of Ligue 1.
