Torres on target again as PSG beat 10-man Marseille in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a 2-1 victory over Marseille in Ligue 1, with Ferran Torres scoring the opening goal and the winning goal in a match attended by bitter rivals. Torres, who had just replaced Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 66th minute, headed in a cross from Desire Doue to give PSG the lead. England midfielder Angel Gomes equalized for Marseille on 72 minutes, but PSG captain Marquinhos won the game for PSG with a goal three minutes later.

Timothy Weah, a former PSG player, was sent off for a second booking, leaving Marseille with a man down. Torres, who has scored seven goals in six appearances in all competitions since joining PSG from Barcelona, stated that the victory was one of the most important matches of the season for his team. Marseille had now suffered four straight Ligue 1 defeats and five losses in a row in all competitions, placing them in the relegation zone.

Monaco, currently leading the table, extended their unbeaten streak with a 2-1 win over Lens, putting them two points clear at the top.
