Sentul OCPD: Police to deploy mobile station near Najib’s Langgak Duta residence from tomorrow; Prisons Dept to handle monitoring

A mobile police station will be deployed near Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s residence in Langgak Duta starting tomorrow, in preparation for any transfer from prison. Sentul district police chief ACP Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam stated that the mobile police station will be stationed at the residence from 7 am tomorrow. The purpose of the deployment is to ensure security for Najib during his return process, as well as to manage traffic congestion and prevent the presence of supporters.

Anuar Bakri added that it is not a 24-hour security arrangement for Najib, but rather a temporary measure during his transfer. He also mentioned that the police deployment would consist of one supervisor and two personnel, supported by a mobile patrol vehicle. However, the police have not yet received official confirmation that Najib’s residence will be used for his house arrest.

The Malaysian Prisons Department will be responsible for monitoring Najib if he serves his sentence under house arrest, according to Anuar Bakri. Four officers from the Prisons Department visited the residence yesterday to conduct an inspection and assessment. The Legal Affairs Division of the Prime Minister’s Department announced that Najib’s house arrest will be carried out with a RM50 million fine, following his conditional pardon from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia.
