‘Daddy is not home yet, but he is touched by the support’ – Yana Najib

Nooryana Najib, daughter of former Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, shared a Facebook post expressing her father's surprise and gratitude for the public support following his decision to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest. The post, dated September 20, 2026, clarified that her father had not yet returned home to comply with the house arrest order, as the RM50 million fine imposed by the conditional pardon had not yet been paid in full.

In the Facebook post, Nooryana quoted her father as saying, "Daddy really did not expect so many people to be willing to contribute. I would never force it on anyone." She added that her father conveyed this sentiment through his lawyer's statement, emphasizing that if the RM50 million fine could be raised through voluntary contributions under the DSN Solidarity Fund, all payment arrangements and subsequent processes would be handled through official channels.

Nooryana explained that the UMNO party launched the DSN Solidarity Fund on September 18 to assist Najib in settling the RM50 million fine required under the conditional pardon. She also acknowledged that many friends and followers had been inquiring about her father's whereabouts, driven by concern and affection. Nooryana assured her audience that while her father had not returned home, the decision of the Pardons Board required the payment of the RM50 million fine first, and they fully respected the ruling.

The post concluded with Nooryana quoting her father's remark during a family visit, in which he expressed his deep appreciation for the public's willingness to contribute. He said, "Thank you once again for every prayer, contribution and act of kindness. It truly means more than you know."
