Wanita DAP gesa minit mesyuarat Lembaga Pengampunan didedahkan

Wanita parti DAP, Teo Nie Ching, has called on the government to disclose the full minutes of yesterday's Lembaga Pengampunan (Truth and Reconciliation) committee meeting, which decided on conditional pardon for former Prime Minister Najib Razak. Teo, the party's chairwoman, said the people have a right to know the full considerations and process that led to that decision.

Teo made her plea after the Executive Committee meeting of the DAP Central Committee, which lasted three hours in the evening. Following the meeting, Deputy Chairman Loke Siew Fook announced he would step down from the position of Transport Minister in response to the conditional pardon decision for Najib. Teo emphasized that Loke's decision was not made lightly.

"His bold and astute decision to take such a tough stance at this critical juncture demonstrates his leadership qualities and reflects the principles DAP has upheld for so long regarding this issue," she said. Earlier today, Loke insisted he was the only DAP leader willing to give up his position following the conditional pardon of Najib, who is 73 years old, in order to ensure political stability.

Najib was allowed to serve the remaining six years of his six-year prison sentence in house arrest, with the condition that he pays a RM50 million fine, or faces an additional year in prison if he fails to comply. The Prime Minister's Department announced that the conditional pardon was approved by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim following the meeting of the Federal Territory Truth and Reconciliation Committee.
