Uefa & Concacaf demand Fifa pays $10m to all 211 members

Uefa and Concacaf have demanded that Fifa allocate at least $10 million (£7.5 million) per each of the 211 member associations for the 2027-30 cycle, according to a letter obtained by BBC Sport. This comes in response to Fifa president Gianni Infantino's scrapped private equity proposal, known as Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE), which would have created a new company to manage commercial and ticketing rights.

The letter, signed by Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin and Concacaf president Victor Montagliani, states that Fifa currently has reserves of approximately $6 billion (£4.5 billion), which is more than needed until the 2030 men's World Cup. The letter suggests that Fifa should release $2.11 billion (£1.57 billion) of these reserves, which would cost $2.11 billion (£1.57 billion) and would be in addition to the regular funding for the cycle.

The associations argue that the analysis of Fifa's financial statements and budgets shows that the FFE proposal was not necessary to deliver greater resources. They also call for an independent review of Fifa's finances and full access to the underlying figures and assumptions.
