The revelation comes amid an ongoing congressional investigation into the lavish events, which allegedly involved hundreds of thousands of dollars from Umar Kremlev, a prominent Russian businessman with ties to the Russian government.

According to ProPublica, Kremlev sponsored the extravagant celebrations, though the president himself did not attend his son's wedding. In a statement, Trump indicated he is unaware of Kremlev and dismissed the controversy as "not a big deal!" However, he confirmed that Don Jr. had indeed agreed to repay Kremlev, noting that the payment had been made "a while ago."

Kremlev's connection to the Russian government and his role in financing the Trump family events have raised concerns among Democrats, who are now scrutinizing the situation. Trump Jr.'s wife, Bettina Trump, defended Kremlev in an Instagram post, describing him as a "friend" who provided an "extraordinarily generous wedding gift." She clarified that the funds covered two after-parties, not the wedding itself.
