Trump says he will create ‘AI Force’, name AI tsar

On Saturday, US President Donald Trump announced his intention to establish an "AI Force" aimed at regulating artificial intelligence. The president also plans to appoint an "AI tsar" soon, according to a social media post. Trump emphasized that the US will not hinder or stifle the growth of the AI industry but rather support and oversee its development.

He assured that the government will identify and address any negative aspects with the help of the existing Criminal and Civil Justice System. The White House has yet to provide a response to inquiries about the announcement.

Earlier in the week, Trump had expressed concerns about a "sick conspiracy" targeting AI and data centers. He dismissed calls for new federal regulations on AI, stating that the US requires only a strong president to govern the technology. In light of this, US officials have announced that they will discuss AI matters during upcoming talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping next week.

Both the United States and China recognize AI advancements as crucial for their economic and military prowess. However, tensions persist between the two nations due to disagreements over access to advanced chips, accusations of technology copying, and the regulation of the AI industry.
