Ratcliffe ‘must go’ says Man Utd Muslim fan group

The Manchester United Muslim Supporters group has called for club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe to resign, following his recent comments expressing concerns about immigration levels and the state of the country. Ratcliffe, a billionaire and founder of petrochemical giant Ineos, made the remarks during a BBC interview. The group, citing a source familiar with the Glazer family, stated that the club's majority shareholders were horrified by his initial remarks, which they deemed as showing disregard for their ownership.

Ratcliffe has since apologized for his choice of language, but the group remains unsatisfied, stating that his latest comments on immigration and benefit recipients are deeply disappointing. The Manchester United Muslim Supporters Club has long criticized the club's ownership, including the Glazer family, for their perceived lack of meaningful change and the club's decline.

The group highlighted issues such as higher ticket prices, deteriorating stadium conditions, and a football team falling behind expectations. In their statement, the MUMSC emphasized that Manchester United would not be the same without its diverse players, staff, and supporters, and urged the Glazer family to step down, along with Ratcliffe.
