Lee meets UAE official to discuss continued cooperation

President Lee Jae Myung met with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi, on Friday, according to a statement from his office. The two discussed maintaining and expanding cooperation between South Korea and the UAE, a partnership that was first agreed upon during Lee's state visit to the UAE in November last year.

Lee expressed his gratitude to the UAE for ensuring reliable crude oil supplies to South Korea in March, during a period of heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran. He highlighted the growing areas of cooperation between the two nations, including defense, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and culture.

During their meeting, President Lee emphasized the importance of close communication between the two countries' key representatives to ensure concrete outcomes that directly benefit their citizens. He also stressed the need to continue fostering trust and cooperation between the two nations' leaders. Lee referred to his chief of staff, Kang Hoon-sik, and Khaldoon as the main points of contact for this ongoing dialogue.
