Lee meets UAE official to discuss continued cooperation

President Lee Jae Myung met with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi, on Friday and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between Korea and the UAE, according to his office. The two countries agreed during Lee's state visit to the UAE last November to establish a partnership that would last for the next 100 years, as stated by presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung.

Lee expressed gratitude to the UAE for prioritizing crude oil supplies to Korea in March, during the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran. He highlighted the growing cooperation between the two nations in sectors such as defense, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and culture. To ensure tangible results for their citizens, Lee called for close communication between the two countries' key representatives, as well as sustained trust-based collaboration, according to Kang Yu-jung.

Additionally, Lee tasked Khaldoon to relay his message to his chief of staff, Kang Hoon-sik, and the UAE's chairman.
