We won’t tolerate Wike calling our govs lazy 419 – APC chieftain, Farouk Aliyu

All Progressives Congress, APC, leader Farouk Aliyu has warned the party will not accept FCT Minister Nyesom Wike branding their governors as "lazy 419ers." Aliyu made this statement during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, responding to the recent disagreement between Wike and the APC governors. The issue arose when the APC governors, under Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, refused to support any alliance that could impact President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 elections, pledging allegiance to the party.

However, Wike countered by labeling the APC governors as "politically lazy" on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ program. Aliyu firmly stated that the APC will not abide by Wike’s derogatory terms, emphasizing that the party cannot align with any coalition that compromises the vote for Tinubu and another political party. Aliyu emphasized, "We in APC reject this name calling by Wike, calling our governors ‘Lazy, 419.’

Wike cannot decide for us how we run our campaigns, and it is totally unacceptable for us to any coalition in such a way that, vote for Tinubu and another party. No, no. So it is very, very uncalled for someone that is trying to help us now to be insulting members of our party."
