Joint statement on third meeting of Qatar-Singapore Implementation monitoring mechanism in Doha

The Implementation Monitoring Mechanism of the Qatar-Singapore High-Level Joint Committee concluded its third meeting in Doha, with both sides reaffirming their warm and longstanding relations and growing cooperation. They welcomed recent high-level visits and expressed condolences on the passing of a notable figure. The Singaporean side reiterated its condolences, while both sides reaffirmed the importance of the Joint High-Level Committee and the Implementation Monitoring Mechanism.

The two sides reviewed cooperation within six Technical Working Committees and agreed on the importance of elevating cooperation between Singapore and the GCC. They welcomed Qatar’s admission as an ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner and looked forward to an upcoming ASEAN-GCC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. Both sides expressed concern over the situation in the Middle East and the need for dialogue and diplomacy.

They also underscored concerns over maritime security threats and the importance of respecting navigational rights and freedoms in accordance with international law. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to being active members of the international community and upheld a rules-based international order. They agreed to follow up on the implementation of the outcomes through diplomatic channels and the respective Technical Working Committees, with the next meeting scheduled for 2027 in Singapore.
