Aminuddin wants action against exco members over royal statement

Former Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun has called for legal action to be taken against state executive council members who issued a statement affirming the removal of Tuanku Muhriz as Yang Dipertuan Besar. Aminuddin claims that the exco members' actions constitute treason against Tuanku Muhriz. He asserts that under the Negeri Sembilan constitution, exco members do not have the authority to make decisions regarding the position of the Yang Dipertuan Besar.

The state executive council, chaired by Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim, declared on September 16 that Tuanku Muhriz's removal in April was legitimate and that Tuanku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar was now the ruler of Negeri Sembilan. However, Aminuddin disputes this claim, pointing out that Menteri Besar Ismail had expressed doubts about the validity of the document on September 9.

Despite this, the exco members later decided that the proclamation was valid. Aminuddin, who was Menteri Besar on April 19, claimed that he was presented with a proclamation to remove Tuanku Muhriz while in office, but refused to sign it and publicly explained his reasons on April 20.
