Ruto escalates Uhuru attack in Migori

Nairobi, Kenya – On September 16, President William Ruto continued his campaign against former President Uhuru Kenyatta by accusing him of hiring opposition leaders as puppets and hired hands to undermine his administration's development plans. During a visit to Migori, Ruto alleged that a sponsor was using these individuals to oppose his government's initiatives in areas such as housing, healthcare, education, and infrastructure projects.

He described these opponents as "puppets" and "people for hire," claiming they were being paid by a sponsor to oppose his policies. Ruto also questioned Uhuru's ability to defeat him in the 2027 General Election, pointing out that Uhuru had failed to do so when he was still in office. The President defended his administration's achievements, including the electrification of 80,000 homes in Migori and the construction of 8,000 houses in the county.

He further promised to allocate Sh28 billion for various projects in the region, including youth hostels, TVET facilities, and KMTC centers. Ruto also praised the Social Health Authority for its efforts to make healthcare more affordable and highlighted the improvement in regular salaries for workers at Sony Sugar. Throughout his speech, Ruto accused opposition groups of lacking coherent policies and vision, urging Migori residents to support the broad-based coalition of his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to deliver development across the nation.
