Ruto’s Migori itinerary: What the President is expected to do as he concludes his Nyanza tour

President William Ruto is set to conclude his four-day development tour of Nyanza on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with a busy schedule in Migori County. The final day of his trip across Kisumu, Siaya, and Homa Bay will see the President inspect key road and energy projects and address residents to consolidate his administration's development agenda and political presence in the region.

Migori County will mark the end of Ruto's tour, following stops in Kisumu, Siaya, and Homa Bay, where he commissioned, launched, and inspected multi-billion-shilling projects. Unlike previous days that featured commissioning ceremonies, today's programme will focus primarily on inspecting ongoing infrastructure projects across several constituencies in Migori.

The President's initial stop is expected to be Uriri Constituency, where he will inspect the Stella-Sibuoche-Gogo Road. The government claims the project aims to improve connectivity and unlock economic opportunities for communities along the corridor. Following Uriri, Ruto will move to Awendo Constituency to inspect the Kanyawanga-Kwoyo-Madiaba Road, another transport project part of the government's road investment program in western Kenya.

Energy infrastructure also features in Ruto's itinerary, with his visit to Kuria West Constituency to inspect the Masaba Sub-Station. The project aims to enhance power distribution in the area, benefiting homes, businesses, and economic activities reliant on a steady electricity supply. On the fourth and final stop, the Posta-Nyirongi Road in Suna East Constituency will be inspected, contributing to transport infrastructure improvements that ease movement and enhance access for local communities.

Throughout his Nyanza tour, Ruto has emphasized improved road connectivity, a recurring theme showcased in Kisumu, Siaya, and Homa Bay. Energy projects, alongside roads, water, housing, and security initiatives, have been highlighted during the tour, reflecting the administration's push for a comprehensive development package across the region.

As the tour concludes, Ruto's engagements in Migori will not only inspect projects but also serve as a platform for him to communicate his administration's development agenda directly to residents.
