On Tuesday, the US House of Representatives made a third attempt to end the ongoing war with Iran, a gesture seen as symbolic amidst the conflict's persistent nature. The decision was made with the midterm elections looming, with the Trump administration having cut or frozen up to $177 billion in federal grants since taking office for his second term.

The cuts affected every state and the District of Columbia, with health, nutrition, the environment and disaster relief being the most impacted sectors, according to a tracking tool by non-profit organization States United Democracy Center and Grant Witness organization.

Simultaneously, the administration plans to send Israel a type of one-ton bomb that was previously withheld due to concerns that it could be used to kill Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The news of this development came amid a heated televised Michigan Senate debate in Detroit, where Democratic nominee Dr Abdul El-Sayed attended but his Republican rival, Mike Rogers, did not.

Meanwhile, a statement from US Attorney General Todd Blanche revealed that his office had charged six legal permanent residents and one undocumented immigrant for voting in federal elections over the past eight years. However, US Attorney Ryan Raybould's announcement of this action did not meet the anticipated expectations.
