VOTE for Week 4 Times Recorder football Athlete of the Week

As the halfway point of the high school football season approaches, the Times Recorder/Tribune once again asks readers to cast their vote for the Athlete of the Week. John Glenn, New Lexington, Philo, Ridgewood, Sheridan and West Muskingum have all found their way into the playoff races this season. Voting closes at the stroke of midnight on September 18.

Among the nominees for this week's honor are Sawyer Bailey from Maysville, who achieved 150 yards passing and 99 yards rushing in a 28-7 loss against Sheridan. Titan Grandstaff from Zanesville had 4 receptions for 79 yards during a 48-22 defeat at Garaway. Colton Mathias of New Lexington contributed 179 rushing yards with 3 touchdowns in a 58-20 victory over Crooksville.

A.J. Pusz from Tri-Valley contributed 58 receiving yards, including a 31-yard touchdown, in a 31-29 loss to Philo. Philo's Rusty Trout was the last player to touch the ball in a 31-29 win against Tri-Valley, catching a game-winning 15-yard touchdown pass on the final play. Hayden Wakefield from West Muskingum scored touchdowns on offense and defense in a 29-7 win over Morgan. Finally, Sheridan's Tyce Whiteman threw for 151 yards with 2 touchdowns in a 28-7 victory over Maysville.
