Vote for Gainesville-area Athlete of the Week for September 8-13

This week, The Gainesville Sun is inviting residents to participate in their Athlete of the Week poll for the period of September 8-13. The poll is open to all, including coaches, administrators, friends, and family. Nominations should be sent to Gainesville Sun Preps Reporter Noah Ram by Monday morning.

Last week, Ava Henley from Countryside Christian volleyball was named the Athlete of the Week for her impressive performance, contributing 18 assists in a win against Peniel Baptist. This week, the focus is on athletes from the same time frame. Voting closes on Saturday at 12 p.m., and individuals can vote as many times as they like. It is encouraged to share the poll with friends and family.

Notable mentions include Addison Barnes from Branford volleyball with 28 assists; Ari Bentley from Hawthorne football with two interceptions; Ariana Parks-Howard from The Rock volleyball for her tournament MVP role; and Brandon Robinson from Fort White football for his two touchdowns. The list continues with Cameron Anderson from Branford football, Claire Bond from Branford golf, Dakarai Wiggins from Hawthorne football, Holly Moore from Hawthorne volleyball, Jake Long from St. Francis Catholic football, and Jamarcus Wimberly from Newberry football, among others.
