“So These Strikes Don’t Go Further, Into Europe”: Zelenskyy Calls For An End To Terror In Ukraine Following Russian Attack Near Polish Border

Russian forces unleashed a barrage of over 2,100 drones, nearly 1,700 guided aerial bombs, and 78 missiles of various types against Ukraine within the past week, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Among these attacks, a significant number of jet-powered Shahed drones were deployed. On this morning and overnight, Ukraine's energy infrastructure, including power plants, Ukrzaliznytsia railway facilities, businesses, and residential areas were targeted.

Odesa, in particular, bore the brunt of missile and drone strikes. Recovery operations are underway in numerous western regions following the latest onslaught. Efforts to restore essential services are underway near the Ukrainian-Polish border in Volyn, where Russians have been seen burning a train locomotive and damaging a gas station through a drone assault.

Zelenskyy stressed that these strikes must not extend further into Europe, as Ukrainian citizens fight daily, sacrificing their lives to prevent the aggression from spreading. Russian terrorism is a common threat, but it can and must be defeated right in Ukraine. Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha warned that Russia plans to expand the geographical scope of its terror.

The Kremlin's inability to achieve its objectives on the front lines has led to an attempt to transform the entirety of Ukraine's territory into a battlefield.
