General : Raja Of Perlis Grants Audience To Deputy Army Chief

Yesterday, at the Balai Mengadap Hijau, Istana Arau, the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, granted an audience to the deputy army chief, Lieutenant General Datuk Mohamad Suria Mohamad Saad. The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, also attended the meeting. The gathering underscored the strong bond between the Perlis Royal Institution and the army, particularly in bolstering collaboration in security and defense, considering Perlis' strategic role as a northern border state.

This close relationship is vital for preserving the state and country's security, sovereignty, and the well-being of its people, ensuring readiness to counter any security threats that could threaten peace and stability. Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, who serves as Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Ranger Regiment and the Royal Military Police Corps, and Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra, the Commander of the 504 Territorial Army Regiment, were present.

The Raja, a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in England, shared his military service experiences during pivotal periods such as the communist threat, Indonesia's confrontation, and the May 13, 1969 Incident.
