Umno Youth opposes working with PH in upcoming Melaka election

In a recent statement, Umno Youth has expressed its opposition to collaborating with Pakatan Harapan in the upcoming Melaka election. Chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh argued that Umno should employ wisdom and utilize the Melaka polls as a platform to promote the ummah unity agenda, aiming to bolster grassroots support. He further suggested that the ummah unity agenda could help Barisan Nasional maintain control of the state with an even larger majority.

Akmal emphasized that the Melaka election is not merely about contesting an electoral process but serves as a testing ground for turning awareness into policies and enhancing people's lives. In Johor and Negri Sembilan, the party has already made significant strides, turning both states blue. He called upon Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to consider turning Melaka blue as well.

According to Akmal, nearly 95% of voters in the youth streams in Johor voted for Umno, while the party secured more than 95% of votes in the same age groups in Negri Sembilan. He pledged that Umno Youth is prepared to replicate this success and turn the World Heritage City of Melaka blue, as the Merlimau assemblyman concluded his policy speech at the Umno Youth delegates' conference.
