On Friday, September 11, 2026, a significant historical event unfolded. In the year 1297, Scottish rebel William Wallace emerged victorious over the English forces at the Battle of Stirling Bridge. A century and a half later, in 1697, the Holy League forces, under the leadership of Prince Eugene of Savoy, triumphed against an Ottoman army led by Mustafa II in the Battle of Zenta. This marked the end of Ottoman control over vast regions of Central Europe.

Fast forward to the 18th century, specifically 1708, during the Great Northern War. Charles XII of Sweden halted his pursuit to conquer Moscow outside Smolensk, which proved to be a crucial turning point in the war. Nearly three centuries later, in 1916, the world witnessed the birth of the self-service supermarket, Clarence Saunders' Piggly Wiggly, opening its doors in Memphis, Tennessee.

Moving closer to the present day, in 2001, a series of tragic events unfolded. United Airlines Flight 93's passengers and crew valiantly tried to reclaim control of their hijacked aircraft from terrorists, resulting in the plane crashing into a Pennsylvania field and claiming the lives of all 44 individuals on board. Additionally, terrorists hijacked another passenger plane, crashing it into the Pentagon, resulting in 125 fatalities.

The final blow of the day came when two more Al-Qaeda terrorists commandeered passenger planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center towers in New York City, leading to the catastrophic collapse of both structures.
