Simultaneously, Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked a passenger plane and crashed it into the Pentagon, resulting in 125 fatalities. The ultimate tragedy, however, occurred when two more planes were hijacked. They were directed towards New York's World Trade Center towers, causing their collapse and claiming an untold number of lives.
