The Ghana Muslim Forum for Peace and Unity has responded sharply to Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, asserting that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's destiny lies solely in the hands of God. The group issued a press statement on Thursday, September 10, condemning the latest attacks by Rev. Bempah on Dr. Bawumia. The forum's Executive Secretary, Dr. Zakari Abdul Rahman, signed the statement following Rev.

Bempah's threats and claims during a church service on Sunday, September 6. Rev. Bempah boasted that Dr. Bawumia cannot become president unless he says so, and threatened to spiritually terminate his political career if his supporters stop responding to him. He also alleged that Dr. Bawumia and the NPP's Nasara Wing were plotting to attack his church.

The Muslim Forum reminded Rev. Bempah that Bawumia's destiny is not in their hands, but in God's. They cited Qur'an 3:26 and Daniel 2:21, stating that kings and presidents are appointed and removed by God. They urged Rev. Bempah to recognize that no human being can stop or force destiny upon Dr. Bawumia, no matter how self-acclaimed.

The forum emphasized that Dr. Bawumia's election as NPP flagbearer by a Christian delegate body and his 42% vote share in the 2024 elections, primarily from Christians, prove that his destiny is not controlled by any pastor. They rejected Rev. Bempah's anti-Muslim campaign against Dr. Bawumia and urged Dr. Bawumia to remain calm, ignore provocations, and continue trusting in God's authority over all affairs.

The Muslim Forum called on all Ghanaians to protect the nation's Christian-Muslim unity from divisive voices.
