90 Kangar Bersatu branch chiefs quit, plan to join Wawasan

Kangar: The Bersatu Kangar division is witnessing a significant departure, with 90 out of its 99 branch chiefs resigning from the party and joining Wawasan. Deputy chief Mohammad Faisol Abd Rahman revealed that the decision was not made hastily, but rather due to a loss of confidence in the party's central leadership. The move was supported by a majority of the division's committee members and youth, srikandi, and srikandi muda wings.

Faisol stated that after years of working with the party at the grassroots level, they felt their confidence in the central leadership had been eroded. The reasons for the departure included issues of direction, management, organization, and leadership approach that no longer aligned with their expectations and aspirations. Faisol announced that they had left amicably and intended to continue their struggle through a new platform by joining Wawasan.

Despite most leaders leaving, some remained with the party. The cooperation with Pas was not affected, as Wawasan is also a component party under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition. It is reported that 14 out of 24 Bersatu branch chiefs in the Padang Besar division also joined Wawasan.
