Kangar Bersatu deputy chief, 90 branch chiefs leave party over loss of trust in leadership

Kangar Bersatu division deputy chief Faisol Rahman, alongside the division committee and 90 out of 99 branch chiefs, announced they are exiting the party immediately. This move includes members from the division's Armada, Srikandi and Srikandi Muda leadership lines, such as Armada Kangar deputy chief Mohd Firdaus Ismail and all Armada committee members.

Faisol, speaking at a press conference in Kuala Perlis, stated that the decision was made after careful consideration of recent events and the loss of trust from grassroots members in the central leadership. He emphasized that the party's strength lies in the trust between its leadership and grassroots members, and when this trust wanes, it becomes necessary to take a firm stance.

Faisol revealed that disagreements over the party's direction, organizational management, and leadership approach led to this decision. He highlighted that the party's future starts with trust, and when that trust is broken, a clear decision must be made. The Perlis Bersatu leadership body chief, Izizam Ibrahim, welcomed the resignations, seeing them as an opportunity for a thorough cleansing to bolster the party's strength in the state.

According to Bersatu's constitution, the resignation or vacancy of a member within a division does not dissolve the division. Instead, a new organizing committee will be established to restructure the division's leadership.
