President Sheikh Mohamed to begin state visit to Germany on Wednesday

President Sheikh Mohamed will commence a state visit to Germany on Wednesday, with the purpose of strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two nations. During this visit, the UAE leader will engage in high-level talks with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Friedrich Merz, focusing on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, particularly in the economic and development realms.

These discussions will be conducted within the context of the strategic partnership that has existed for over five decades between the UAE and Germany. The two countries share robust relations, with the UAE being a key partner in Germany, accounting for over $15.5 billion in bilateral trade in 2025. Moreover, approximately 2,000 German firms have established offices in the UAE, with prominent companies like BMW, Siemens, ThyssenKrupp, and Deutsche Bahn playing significant roles in developing the UAE's railway infrastructure.

The state visit aims to further solidify the thriving friendship between the UAE and Germany. In February, Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Chancellor Merz to Abu Dhabi, where they discussed the potential for deeper collaboration, focusing on expanding energy ties. At that time, Sheikh Mohamed noted that the talks centered on exploring opportunities for "enhanced collaboration."

Chancellor Merz also visited Adnoc's headquarters during his official visit to the UAE, highlighting the growing strategic energy partnership between the two nations.
