Lee arrives in France, set for summit with Macron in Paris

President Lee Jae Myung made his way to Nice, France, on Sunday for a four-day visit that would eventually bring him to Paris for a significant summit with French President Emmanuel Macron. On Monday, Lee was scheduled to participate in the Lumiere Summit, a gathering centered around the future of cinema in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, alongside Macron as co-chair.

On Tuesday, the Korean president embarked on a two-day state visit to Paris, where he would engage in private discussions with Macron, followed by a summit meeting and a grand dinner banquet hosted by Macron and his spouse, Brigitte Macron, at the prestigious Elysee Palace. On Wednesday, Lee had a series of meetings, including a chat with Yael Braun-Pivet, the speaker of the French National Assembly's lower house, and Mathias Cormann, the secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), before returning home.

This trip to France was at Macron's invitation, following Macron's visit to South Korea in April. The visit of both leaders coincides with the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
